The Friends of Millhouses Park (FoMP) have helped raise funds and, working with Sheffield City Council, the Park has seen many improvements in recent years.
It is great to see so many families and people enjoying our wonderful Park.
But there is still work to be done to keep the Park and the Playground a place for everyone, young and old, to enjoy all the fantastic facilities. With this in mind, FoMP are looking for people/families to join us with new ideas for future projects, enthusiasm for fundraising and to help continue to keep our Park a great place for everyone to visit and enjoy.
If you think you might like to be actively involved, an informal meeting is to be held at the Waggon and Horses, which is next to Millhouses Park on: –
Friday 30th January 2015 at 7.30 pm
Please come along and join us to find out more.

BT Staff Work Away Day
Following the restoration work on 4 old benches in 2013, now round the climbing block in the playground, BT Staff once again embarked on another project of restoration of 5 Picnic Tables rescued from Abbeydale Centre.
The work was organised and run by Sheffield Ranger Service.
The before and after pictures are taken at the Small Mill Building which is used as our centre for these works.
A new Picnic Table costs over a £1000 so BT’s work has added well over £5,000 worth of assets to Millhouses Park.
Watch out for them in the near future!

Picnic Benches After
Sunday 11th May 2014 was set for a river clean through Millhouses Park together with Sheffield Ranger Service.
As it turned out, the river was swollen after heavy overnight rain so we used the time to carry out a deep litter pick from Archer Road up to and round the Café area. 20 willing volunteers turned out to brave the weather and over 20 bags of litter were collected.
Thanks to all who attended, the Rangers and Pete Stow who organised the event.

PCSO Nicola Doolan and our new area PC, Chris Wilkinson are hosting the event and it is your opportunity to both meet them and bring any matters of concern to their attention.
Many thanks for those who turned out to clear the litter along the river banks through the park, it was a friendly, productive and rewarding few hours.
Pete Stow provided bags, litter pickers and gloves for all and we collected some two dozen bags of rubbish.
We will need to gather again to do the Abbeydale Road South hedge bottoms which have gathered a lot of rubbish over the last few weeks.
Can we ask all members to do what they can to reduce the litter as they walk round so we present a clean and tidy park?
Again, a job well done and special thanks to Pete Stow for the organisation.
